Well, I installed two Rebel Yells in my ibanez..
But I have to admit something.. The distortion on my Microcube actually sounded better with the stock pickups..
The distortion is way to distorted.. You can't tell one note from another.. Can it be because they are to high?
-
Or a microcube cant reveal the detail in the sound.
But seriously, if you dont like them, change them back.
I'd recommend keeping the RYs about till you get them through a nice transparent amp though. Or, try playing them through a nice transparent amp now.

Yeah.. I thought it was the Cubes fault too :(

I'm surprised you're having trouble telling one note from another - my RY is one of the tightest, most defined-sounding pickups I've ever used.
They're probably higher-output than your stock pickups, so they're overdriving the amp much more easily, at lower settings.
You probably just need time to get used to them, I know it sounds obvious but try turning down the gain on your amp (and/or distortion pedal). You don't necessarily get the best distorted sounds at the highest settings.
Can it be because they are to high?
Yes, it might be that the pickups are too close to the strings. If you lower them a little you'll get less output but the tone will be clearer.

Yeah your right.. I meant they were too distorted.. Sorry :P
But yeah, they are propably higher output than the stock..
Thanks

You do need to let your ears adjust a bit too. I wasn't that impressed when I first installed my Riff Raffs, but a few hours playing later I was really amazed.
Give them time, and tweak your amp/pedal settings to suit the RYs ;)

BKPers often find they have to adjust their amps
but
if you cant tell one note from another you may have set them too high - they are probably higher output than your previous and thus you have to make the adjustments on the guitar. It doesn't seem like a BKP to have no note definition, so I think you might want to lower them abit.

Thanks for all the advice..
Unfortunatly.. I can first play it tomorrow :'(

Don't forget to keep us posted, we'll try to help. :)

I'll do :)

I just ordered a Rebel Yell for the bridge of my Epi LP Custom. I'll let you know how I like it

I played a bit with the amp settings and now it sounds sweet :)

good stuff, glad u dialed in the tone your after! :)

Pickup height is crucial and no two players will evr be the same either.String guage also plays a big part too.Always adjust pickup height by ear-remember handwound pickups are much more sensitive to height adjustment!
-
I'll adjust the height whenever I come near a screwdriver
