Title: something that sounds like a miracle man but with more??
Post by: octavio_amzer on November 14, 2006, 04:31:12 AM
I love my Miracle man but I was expecting more bass from it and also more output. my setup is kind of bright... but I love the crunch the MM has.

what would you recommend and why?

comparisons with the miracle man on the bridge please and that it can pair nicely with my cold sweat on the neck  :D

I was thinking ceramic warpig but I'm not sure...

but if I want a ceramic warpig do I have to order it with a double row of screws?

can't I order a ceramic warpig that looks like a normal single row cover?

Have you tried adjusting the pickup relative to the strings?  You can boost output this way and BKPs are sensitive enough so that this can make a big difference.  Have you tried raising the bass side of the pickup?

I have a MiracleMan with double allen head screws and find that the bass is tremendous compared to any other PU Ive tried.

try adjusting ur amp if more bass is what u want or look at the warpig or a ceramic pig.

MMM

If the MM isn't enough, then Warpig or Ceramic Warpig are pretty much the only other options.

Surprised you feel the need for more bass though, even in my alder strat - a very bright guitar - the MM's output & bass response shakes the floor.  How close do you have the pole pieces to the strings?

Perhaps I'm showing my age, but MM is more than enough for this aging metaller (FWIW, the Holy Diver is my fav pickup).  I've stayed away from the Warpig so far - you can have too much of a good thing IMO... :)

I can certainly make a stock looking Warpig although the twin rows of poles do add bass hence why we do it.
You should consider the new Painkiller-awesome bass response!

i would go with Tim on this one, I have miracleman and Painkiller. I find the painkiller hotter ! and the bass is huge and very tight. The grind is more ballsy than the miracle man as well.

wow...

can you guys tell me about the painkiller compared to the miracle man?

does it have more output and bass  :D??

I thought the painkiller was going to be something thin sounding and middy.

Now why would BKP make a thin, middy sounding pickup :?

already read the description... "british sounding" is something I'm not really into...

I'm sure I need a warpig. Is this the highest output and fattest bareknuckle? how does a set of warpigs sound? good for shred on the neck? good for heavy chug and speedy single note riffs on the bridge? good cleans?

thanks

I think I'm getting in love already with my miracle man!!

just used another settings and got away some brightness and shifted a bit the mids.. and WOW

I got the whole "ride the lightning" album tone in an instant!!!

simply wow!!

but the warpig info would be sweet as well  :D

Glad yu like the MM though - they're tuff pups 8)
