hey guys, was watching placebo play nancy boy (live at reading) on youtube the other day and wondering how he got the cool tone out of his gear, sounds almost fuzzy (it may just be the fact that he's using single coils)
any ideas??
cheers

Placebo are the only band who have actually made me physically sick. But that may have been from sitting in a boiling hot car in a traffic jam followed by a pot noodle.
Eating the pot noodle I mean, not sitting in it.

It's a funny thing about Placebo. So many people hold such negative views about them for no particular reason...
I used to bloody hate them but I've really changed around on that view. I took some time to listen (whilst preparing to hate it all..) and really got to enjoy the occasional mix of arty, androgynous aggression.
Trouble is I then crossed over into the group that take criticism for liking them..

I never said I didn't like them, their tunes are very cathcy, and I even remember reading a review of their demo tape when they sent it into the free mag Making Music, it's just that when they played the sound from the PA played havoc with my digestive system
As it happens I almost ended up sharing a house with their original drummer.
