Went to Guitar Center today and played some other Schecter's, very sweet (way nicer than price would indicate) and great necks!

That looks very nice Nick.I like that semi too. Perhaps when you bring it to the UK you can pose as a US visitor and avoid Brown's Bunce.

It IS bought :)
Just awaiting arrival. And ya KNOW it was VERY right price :) When have I ever bought summit at list/right price :) (cept BKP's).

Single coils at some point would be cool but right now I love buckers and am not a trem fan (although the 'pet has one).

Pose as US Visitor?
I am shipping ALOT of stuff over (take bout 6 weeks) but carrying this. ALL stuff is USED personal stuff and I am a US Resident with a Green Card, aka Mr. Customs and Exercise can kiss my hairy white ASS! :)

She just arrived.
Awesome guitar for the money.
Well built, not too heavy, great QC, binding, paint, tuners etc. top notch. Even REAL SD's (although they will go eventually lol).
Great diff. tones from 5 way switching, excellent neck with GREAT upper fret access.
VERY pleased/impressed.
Other guitars/stuff gets picked up for shipping today, will hand carry this one as others are packed good.
Freezing in Houston today, cold front came in this morning.
Know it is'nt UK, but check this, was 81deg. yesterday (ucckk, too muggy), now 39deg. today! What a temp. change in bout 12hrs!

Flying back Tuesday so be back in Blighty soon.

Nick

I assume (as twice before) it will have to go 'checked baggage', so I cannot get to it to garrot anyone even when/if I wanted to    So no worries there. It's in a hardace and have just UPPED all insurance on this and other that are getting shipped, so just fingers crossed and all that.

Heck, not got to picking BKP's stage yet.
Dunno, it 'should' get some blusier pups, but then again, HAHA.
It's basically a Fender Flat-Head, and only player I know playing this reg. is Jim Root, and he is NOT bluesy lol.
Dunno, not got a MM yet or CS but maybe BD or RY.
Heck, I have annihilation with the 'Pigs and HEAVY with PK.
ALOT more thought needed on this un.

Its Mahogany Body, set neck, rosewood board,5 way switching, thu body strung.

Will correct myself already :)

Think (due to their amazing tone and STUNNING 'split' tone, in my JP6) I will probably go for Black Covered Painkillers (yeah I know, but it just seem's right! Maybe BD or Emeralds or summit for the LP).

Then I can call her the (remember it's a Telecastor design/shape);

PainCaster

or better still

TeleKiller

More Painkillers? Hmm they must be ffing good!  :D Rebel Yells are tasty too!

JM,
I have sooooooooo much METAL   stuff, I like to play Blues and such too (appeases my mum as well :)), and I KNOW the Painkillers sound soooooooo beautiful when split. NOT recorded yet (am still in Houston right now and stuff is shipped on way home) but the mid position on the Pet with Painkillers (inside 1/2 of both pups) through the Rivera is almost religious. Therefore I am pretty damn sure (as the Blackjack is 5 way switching, not just 3) they will shine in that too, and I already know they kick some serious HEAVY ass (also downtune well). Thats my thought anyway. The clean sound from the PK's was a very unexpected bonus tbh, but it's my thinking right now.

BTW, did a JM whilst here LOL. Dunlop Craybaby From Hell, Boss TU2, Cables, Slide etc. :) Get it whilst I can/it's cheap :) Oh and some M-Audio powered Monitors.

Don't forget your HBE Dos Mos now!! + A CPR  8) What about a BBE Sonic Maximiser?

Have a go at the RY's for your new guitar man! They have a lovely tone but saying that MQ's are the blues dude! If you want that sound!

I actually dislike pedals JM, only have a HBE Power Screamer (apart from tuner). Don't need a BBE with the Rivera (not found to yet anywhoo).
Basically the PK (split) does great blues tones, ala Tele). Not ready yet so RY may be in with a chance ;)

I'm not a big fan of pedals either Nick but the Dos Mos is one hell of a good tone inf ront of a clean amp!  8)

I shall be visiting the USA probably next April to visit my son and I shall have a mooch around the stores for interesting stuff. this rate of exchange thing does have some advantages.

sure looks yummy - not keen on the headstock though.

The standard (not Blackjack) Schecter PT (which is still produced) has the 'fender' style headstock. But it also has fewer 'goodies' and a maple neck.

This has me gassing for a Fender Flat Head (but they are costly and am sure Feline could do better for the price :)).

yeah i was looking at that PT when i first heard yu were buying this guitar - i really like the look of that. Those flat heads seem severely overpriced to me. nice but in a stripped down standard kinda way

Indy,
in my experience the UK-USA price divide is less than was (although exchange rate is awesome for UK right now), but the Flat Head is $1,250 here and same in UK pounds!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOT good.

However, for the dollars, i.e. bout 630 quid is'nt quite so bad.

It's roughly the same for mesa amps and petrol then!

Nice guitar Nick!

JM,
yeah it's funny how alot of things are more equal and others are WAY off!

Still, with regards to petrol, over here they are STILL obsessed with the HUGE 'Gas Guzzlers' (and as petrol is HIGH (for here) works out bout as silly! Way too many 8-12mpg vehicles on road here and don't know of a 'mainstream' 35+ mpg vehicle here (that is like a Texas Roadbump, i.e. weird and easy to run over with a truck :)).
