whats the difference between auido taper & linear taper & more importantly what do i need to order for my guitar??

Go for linear taper all round (volume and tone).  You'll certainly need it for tone for it to be useful, and could use linear on volume if you want to.

Do a Google search for the difference between linear and audio taper.  I can't explain it easily in simple terms but there will be a site somewhere that does!
