I've recently purchased a nailbomb to replace the stock pick up that comes with the fernandes sustainer kit, and it doesnt seem to work properly, in the sense that the standard mode on the sustainer sounds fine, but the mix and the harmonic mode sound pretty bad, and the feedback I get from the sustainer is not very musical and almost unusable. Thoughts/suggestions??
Thanks

...Anyone??

Is it wired in correctly ?
Are you utilising the coiltap anywhere?
Did you wire it Red to hot, black to earth and green and white taped together?
You say it was a kit - what guitar did you put it into
Fernandes kits are VERY specific which guitar , scale length and number of frets that they are to be used with.
It could be that the sustainer is not quite in the right place for the harmonic nodes therefore, whilst the fundamental note sounds ok

Well, I've had the same kit installed in the same guitar for 4 years, and it's always worked perfectly, but I didnt like the way the pick up that came with the kit sounded, so I replaced it with a NB and now it's the other way around! I like its sound, but the sustainer sounds terrible. I dont know how it's wired, but the guy who installed the new pick up is the same guy who installed the sustainer back then, so I guess he just swapped the wires..

He may have wired the colour codes the wrong way round
