My friends wife is going to buy him a nailbomb bridge for his jackson soloist. do they have 50mm or 53mm for the bridge.
She already placed the order, so I need to know asap to tell Tim to change if needed. thanks
-
Is it a new soloist? If so it'll probably have an original Floyd Rose bridge and that'll need 53mm.
-
+1 53mm, widespaced.
-
he got a jackson from the 80's. made in san dimas
-
If it has any flavour of Floyd, I'd suggest 53mm.
Even the early Jackson licensed copy has 52mm spacing (I have a broken one on my desk)

thanks guys for the quick answers!!!!!

HMMM. I have a feeling that by the time the name became 'Jackson' they'd moved to Fort Worth, Texas? Anyway, it's still a great guitar :)
Old san dimas Charvels used a brass strat style trem (or later a kahler) and the Jacksons would have a Kahler or OFR but I think all of those would be 53mm. I'm jealous of your friend now, I've got a Nailbomb but would love a San Dimas.
I have a made in Japan Charvel and it's great but not quite the real thing if you know what I mean.

Jackson never had a factory in Fort Worth - that was the headquarters of IMC who bought the company
Jacksons wee made in San Dimas for a while before moving to another California factory
+1 on 53mm spacing
I personally think the Miracle Man sounds better in the thru neck Jacksons

Thanks guys,
I know he listened to the nailbomb a couple of time online and loved it. But if you and Tim says the MM will be better in his guitar, then I told her to get the MM. He can always exchange if its too much.
He's a big maiden, sabbath, circle jerks and motorhead fan
