Title: Anyone have info on this Maxon OD-808 mod?
Post by: adamzap on December 14, 2006, 04:02:50 PM
I want a maxon od-808, but theyre so expensive, then I see this:

If I bought it, would it still sound like an od-808 overall?

thanks

the mod where you change the resistors & caps on the output stage IS noticeable, but it's also only two resistors and one cap - please don't pay alot of money for one.

I've said it a million times - there is nothing special about the various Tube Screamer variats to warrant spending alot of money.

Get the basic Ibanez/Maxon TS-5/TS-9/TS-10/TS-808 and have someone mod it.

What exactly don't you like about your stock TS pedal?

I was just looking for a cheap od-808 and this one has already been modded so I was wondering if it's still a good buy as an od-808.

thanks for the response :)
