Hi Stu welcome  :)

Nice stuff you have, but tell me one thing.

Maybe I will, maybe I won't, I came here in search of beefing up my Strat, ze Ravelle is basically the perfect guitar at the moment and shan't be altered in any way, shape or form.

Those 57 reissues play really well. I thought i'd played just as well as the Eric Johnson strat, no joke!

Damn right they do! :D

For £400, you can't argue - superb body, amazingly playable neck, light as a feather and a generally flawless finish. The only weak spot as far as I personally am concerned is the pickups.

I don't think I'll be buying a US Fender as long as I can get my grubby mits on the Japanese counterparts.

That Fernandes would be even more amazingly awesome without that weird pickguard!

Cool gear man, gotta love tangfastics!

Everyone says that about the pickguard! I can totally see why with it being so weird but I love it, it's so quirky and cheesey... literally, swiss cheesey.

Hi Ed.

You like the fernades, huh? Well, if you get the BK singles youre going to be wondering what the humbuckers sound like...

More than likely, are you suggesting that - after hearing the singlecoils in action - I'm gonna wanna gut my SD's out and replace with a pair of BK's?

Unlikely, the Ravelle works perfectly but I do at some point in the future plan on a humbucker or humbuckers in future guitars. :)

Thats exactly what I'm suggesting. When you see what BKs can do to your sound, you'll change your mind about what perfect is

I fell for that bug: BKP'd guitars kept showing up the other ones. I had to bring them back into play. Which meant more BKs (only one left that I'm happy with without them: because I'm scared; its not a good guitar, but it just happens to work really well with the pickups in it)

The nut was something it benefited from quite a bit, yeah. Mainly because I started using crazy guage strings in very low tunings: its easier to replace it altogether and get the right string hight (a little tiny fraction of a mm higher for heavy strings) than it is to widen a groove without deepening it.

The tuners didnt need changing for anything but bragging rights    I was swapping out a set that did need changing and thought "Screw it".

I couldve left 10s on and just changed the pickups, it would be the same difference.

But point taken!

Ishibashi isnt working for some reason, I hope they haven't received a cease and desist from fender because there were some nice strats on there.

you and your low tunings... tsk tsk. next you'll be buying red hats, baggy trousers, and trying to rap, badly. over metal grooves, yo.

Can't see that being the case, they're the official outlet in Japan for Fender guitars - it's not some online store selling them. They only have a reasonably small selection in comparison to some places but the prices are a steal!

Heh, you can tell you don't know me - I am never without GAS, the first thing I did when I bought my Strat was start planning what's next. I have about my next 8 guitars all planned out ahead of me... uh oh.

Urgh, yeah, "but you already have three, why do you need another one" and the answer "well, because I need a Telecaster, and then a semi-hollowbody and also something with a double locking trem and then I want another solidbody hardtail..." just doesn't seem to cut it.

*points at cupboard which has 95% of the parts for making a Telecaster*

You need to zoom in to read that? It's clear as day!

It's the logo of Asian Man Records, a label who are absolutely brilliant in their policies and ethics and have released stuff by some fab bands.
