what i want is tone advice what should i change im gonna have to use my guyatone into the same model amp but the 100watt version unfortunately so any advice on what to change?
-
nice and heavy! really like it! you ever tried emgs?
-
yeah i want from emgs to the miracle man :D well it wasnt by choice my guitar with emgs got stolen so i bought a rocket roll and thought id try bare knuckles as id heard so much about them
-
which do you prefer? im really liking my emgs how does the mirical man compare to them?
-
i really loved my EMGs i also love my miracle man i am uncertain as to which i prefer i need to wait until my lead players EMGs arrive so i can compare them both side by side to get a real idea
then ill know whether to get EMGS for my les paul or some more BKs
-
yeah i love my emgs as well...dont think you can beat emgs for a heavy rythem tone! and they just cut throught the mix really well live!
-
dunno check out the lost art of empathy on here
www.myspace.com/thefobialeeds
its my mates band listen the lead track compared to the rhythm
thr rhythm player has emgs and the lead player has a nailbomb
then again the second solo does cut through quite well which was done y the rhythm player

Add some more mids to get some more growl out of it.
-
What is all this talk about EMG's??!!
Screw the EMG, BKP is the way forward.
Nice tone, but yeah as Ratrod said, more mids for that heavy Metallica sound!!

didn't they scoop their mids like crazy?
-
...no
It's the other way around, they have aload of mids and definatley don't scoop them.
-
ill think u will find metallica scoop their mids
-
ill think u will find metallica scoop their mids
no they dont this is a common misbelief if they scooped there mids it woudl be too low in the mix
people jsut scoop theremids and think oh this sounds like metallica when it doesnt really so presume that metallica must scoop there mids
-
i have their exact amp settings from AJFA and MOP somwhere i will try and find a link and they clearly scoop their mids and there are loads of interviews with James and he states this.
-
i also have a copy of the justice amp settings somewhere from sweet silence studios
-
Can you send them to me please :D:D:D:D

James Hetfield used scooped mids untill the Black Album. Bob Rock gave James the tip to add more mids.

Talking about Jason's bass being obscured on ...AND JUSTICE FOR ALL: "Also, my tone on JUSTICE was very scooped-all lows and highs with very little mid-range. When my rhythm parts were placed in the mix, my guitar sound ate up all the lower frequencies. Jason and I were always battling for the same space in the mix." Guitar World, October 1991

For Ride The Lightning, you use a slight mid scoop. For MOP, I have to cut out the low mids, bring up the mid's over the low mids but not much more, and then adjust the treble and bass so I nail that loose but clear bass. For the black album I still scoop but hardly. It's almost like flat with a lot of treble.
