A lot of people like the Warpig/MQ mix, generally for it's great cleans. But can it do good leads though a heap of distortion or will it just fail, i was looking at the Cold Sweat, but then i heard that the cleans would not be that good due to higher power and ceramic magnet.

mmm... the thing is that the Cold Sweat is an Alnico V when placed on the neck and the power will balance with any High Gainer on the bridge. That said... I can tell you that's why most people combine it with the Miracle man, Nailbomb, etc.
and believe me... the Cold Sweat Shreds like no other!! incredible mellow and fast as you wish. And the cleans are "ok", not the best but simply "right" and acceptable enough to use with chorus effects, etc to make em sound brilliant.
switching your solos with bridge - neck with this setup will nail any Metallica lead. You will sound better than Kirk with Cold Sweats

I can't see an MQ doing good leads/shread - it's a bit too thick sounding.

Oh yeah i forgot it is different for the neck. And i always add chorus to my cleans so i guess it would sound good.
Haha i just realised i put this in the wrong forum.

Why would you want the warm beauty of a Warpig to sound like a EMG? If you want Metallica tone then buy an 81 if you want in my opinion far better tone then buy a Warpig.
