Are they any good? A friend of mine has a small company dealing with multiple areas of gaming and is currently under the process of creating a revision like game for young students with funding from a larger company to go towards production.
He asked me knowing I study music technology at university but as I've never used them I didn't want to give a definite answer. I will however be recording the voice overs and music for him with my own selection of mics but he still needs one for future reference/use. From what I've found does anyone know if these are good?

Hopefully, I shall also be setting up and heading a new sub-division of this company dealing with music and sound effects for the games and upcoming websites, so good news for me too :D :D :D more news watch this space.

you can get a usb mic made by sennheiser i think that is quite similar and compares well to the shure sm57 im currently trying to find out what it is myself

I've heard very good things about the Rode Podcaster! Rode are one of the best mics out there.

actually correction its a samson CO1U and it has a slightly better tonal range than the shure sm57 and just plugs straigh into your USB socket no need for expensive sound cards or mixers
