Hello again!
Well, i've decided to go with an Irish Tour in the neck position of my Warmoth project. As far as i know, the Irish Tour is a very glassy, strat-ish, springy pickup. For maximal tonal possibilities, i thougth i should put a smoother, warmer, more "relaxed" sounding pickup in the middle position, and therefore the Sultan came to mind.
I'd like a 2# position (neck and middle) that sounded a bit more.... warm and smooth...more airy than the Irish Tour alone would... keep in mind that i've never played any BK pickups except the Irish Tour, so i'm counting on your reccomendations!
Thanks alot,

I'd like to hear the Sultans. I think Mark Knopfler has one of the best Strat sound in the world.

'Course Erland, what do you want to know?
Will Sultans do the Dire Strait thing...........sure will, so will the Apache.
Going with a Sultan in the middle and an Irish Tour in the neck isn't too bad for balance......you'd have to play with pickup height to get the balance bang on.
However, if you have a RWRP middle, when in pos 2 I'm assuming you'd go for an auto shunt on the humbucker, you'll be in parallel humcancelling mode which is quite smooth sounding.................for my money I'd go with an Irish Tour mid and neck..........you'll get better balance and great tone too.
