Looks great mate, very 'you'
-
That looks awesome, especially with that maple board!!
Can't wait for the clips!
-
It sounds awesome too. It seems like moving the Cold Sweat forwards by about 3-4 mm has placed it into a real sweet spot. It also sustains like mad!!!
-
Clips soon-ish. Have a gig to get thru, first, and get my rig back into my house.
Not sure if having the matching amp and guitar looks naff, or not -- I like it, tho!

needs a logo.. headstock too blank ;)
-
There is a logo, but I need to lacquer the headstock face first. Ben wanted the guitar for tonight's practice so I just threw it together quick. The neck is actually oiled, but you can't put decals over the oil finish, so the face hasn't been touched yet.

Wow looks awsome, i love Maple necks on strats.
Bet it sounds the shiz to.
-
nice!
but....
Neck Warmoth: Flame maple,
Synth pup: Roland GK-2A
where's the flame?!
i'd change a few things like the headstock shape and scratchplate e.t.c., but hey, it's not my guitar...
-
put a floyd in it and I'm sold!
-
Nice match for the Splawn.
-
Cant wait for the next meet to try it out. Very nice!

I think Davey was being difficult, Phil. Pay him no mind!
-
Looks awesome to me, now I cant wait to get myself a strat of some kind! I keep nagging, but did my cd get shipped yet? :D
-
On its way, brutha!

Thanx, 38th. Yes, very simple and WAY effective! Emo kids kill themselves just looking at it, saving me the trouble!
-
gorgeous looking guitar, congrats!
i'm wondering, how do you control the synth end? i don't see the usual switches and buttons.
oh, and i quite like the blank headstock

They might be added ... jury is still out on whether I will actually need em or not.

Me, too! But the finished version will be even cooler!

It does need something on there. And no string trees? Are they locking tuners?
Cool! Stripped-down, single-pickup guitars are great (but I can't do without my volume & tone controls, personally).
-
Liking the guitar ben. I notice you have 5 springs in the trem, to help it stay in tune with heavier strings? Have you tried the hipshot tremsetter, i just got a new tokai Goldstar strat and Iwant to keep the trem on it (for once) but they always go out of tune, but i digress (if you spell it that way)
WOOO, death to the emo kids! $%ing sick of fall out boy and my chemical romance, over produced shite.
Anywhoo, nice geeetar

The bridge is as tight down as you can get. I was going to block it, but I had to get the guitar together in less than a week (I got back from England at 1 AM on the 31st, and had it ready by the evening of the 2nd, including recutting the scratchplate, so I just put 5 springs in and tightened the claw for now.

ahh, i wondered that, i have done it on two of my strats. Have you ever used a tremsetter?
-
That's so insanely sexy, excellent plate.

No - I always just think that if you don't want the trem you tighten the springs and pull it to the body, with a block if you really want it to be firm, otherwise just put 3 springs in and use it normally.
-
The Tremol-No is a fab piece of kit, I have one installed on my 1957R MIJ Strat and it locks the trem down perfectly. It's basically a hardtail now but by loosening two little thumb screws, bam, it's back to a vintage trem.

That's it then I have to ge me one straight away.

Wheres the controller for the Roland GK-2 pickup?
-
Don't need it, Jonesy. I now have two outputs, one analog and one synth. I use my FC-200 for all the control options. Here's a pic from last Wed of me in the studio using my FC-200 to lay down some pedal synths:
