Title: Went to buy a strat, came back with this
Post by: Dazza1004 on January 09, 2007, 11:11:37 AM
Went to Coda in Stevenage on saturday to buy a HSS US Deluxe strat, unfortunately they didn't have one in. Having driven up there from Kent there was no way I was going back empty handed.

Was all set to buy a PRS Cu24 but thought I would quickly check out the Les Pauls just because. 5 mintues later the PRS was forgotten and the money was on the counter.

It's a standard model with a 60's neck but it feels pretty chucky to me because my main guitar is an Ibanez Jem with a wizard neck. It's sodding uncomfortable to play sat down but I am going to show it who's boss.

Got a reverse zebra rebel yell for the bridge, just ordered a rz cold sweat for the neck.

I still have bad gas for the strat but it will have to wait a bit till I get used to the Paul. Already know I am going to fit the strat with a miricle man to go with the HS3 neck and HS2 middle I have laying around.

Absolutely gorgeous.  Congratulations on at last turning to the dark side of the force, young Jedi.  Muahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!

No, seriously, effing lovely axe, man.  You will not be sorry.  Get yourself an Earvana nut for that puppy and never look back.  What is the exact model name of this specimen?  A Standard Custom Deluxe Plus Ultima AAA Top?  I begin to lose track of all the labels Gibson uses.

That's right.  It's not how much you pay --- it's how much you save.  That then justifies more GAS purchases --- "Look, dear, I just bought a $2000 guitar instead of a $3000 guitar.  With only another half-dozen $1000 savings like that, we'll be able to afford that trip to Fiji you want........er, for our 60th anniversary."

Haha nicely done... you know, a real GAS-head would've further justified it by spending the £400 on something else. :D

Exactly! Always play it off against something else... "well, I could have bought this one but I fancied eating again this year."
