OK well it started off as a regular rg370dx and now it looks like this (done in photoshop as i havnt got any pics yet but looks the same)

here is what i did:
.1. added a tremolno.
.2. changed tuners for sperzal locking tuners.
.3. removed single coil and added hum/hum pickgaurd to cover cavity.
.4. changed bridge pup to Bareknuckle Miracle Man
.5. changed neck up to Dimarzio air norton
.6. replaced all the electronics and switches (cts 5way switch, cts 500k superpot for volume, cts 500k regular pot, hovland guitarcap 0.022 and input jack to gold switchgraft)
i havnt bothered replacing the trem as i only use it in hardtail mode so no need really and i acctually like the wizard 2 neck as my hands are huge and normal wizards are a bit thin.
all in all i have spent close to £400 on the guitar which i only bought for £250 but now it is one killer guitar.

Very nice guitar mate, only one question tho. Why did you spend a load on locking sperzels when you have a locking bridge and nut? seems a bit of a waste when a set of grovers cost about half as much? i bet it sounds brutal now tho. Nice job :twisted: :twisted:

I'd love to have an ibanez RG with a scratch plate. can you get a decent one, with more normal inlays?
A 5 way switch with two pickups... what options would that give you then?

locking tuners dont really act like a locking nut etc so you wont have the tuning stability of the locking nut. i got them as re stringing take 2 sec and they are just good quality.

ok well here is what combo i have wired
1.neck
2.coil split neck (air norton with coil spilt gives nice cleans)
3. neck and bridge
4 neck coil and bridge coil
5 bridge

Nice axe, mate. where did u get the scratchplate from. I have an '89 Rg550 and would like to get a HSS scratcplate for it. Any idea if I can get one from anywhere?

yeah well i got mine custom made from jeanie pickguards just contact them and tell them what guiar you have and what you want they pretty much will do anything for you and the stuff they make is top class

i got them as re stringing take 2 sec and they are just good quality.

I have seen a few players who have done it to speed up the restringing process- they string it backwards too.
Put the string through the sperzel and then lock it in the bridge
Pull it tight and lock the sperzel and tune up
Finally lock the locknut and trim the string ends
Takes hardly any time at all

In my opinion, the only way to string a Floyd Rose is 'backwards'; ie, with the ball end at the machine.
