Whats the sudden obession with everyone on this website and laney??
Im not knocking laney because i've used the LC30II and LC15R and really liked them both, but it's all anyone ever seems to talk about in here, am i missing something?
-
this forum seems to go through phases. When i joined everyone has jcm800s, then it went on to ENGLs... Laney's seem to be the next big thing around here :P
Minimats were big at one stage too, lol
-
Yep there seems to be trends on this forum, more so than others :P I am proud to say I decided on getting one just before they started getting really popular/hyped up, so I dont feel so much of a sheep :)
Its probably because they do a good british tone for cheaper than a good Marshall or Splawn. I still want a Quickrod though ;)

There are phases for guitars too, i'm proud to say i started off the famous 80's superstrat obesession.

you *$£!ing did not!
ben's had superstrats for about the past 20 years, lol. And I had mine longer than I've been a member here.

i started wanting a Laney when _tom_ got his, i was considering them because of Opeth, and Philly Q told me that to get the basic tone, i would need the amp first.
-
I had a Laney klipp in around 1978 so I started the trend before many of you were born.

Not possible, because the internet was only invented in 1996

HA!
REAL superstrat trend setters were playing super strats before there was even an "internet".
-
Laney's are just great amps. I prefer the VH100R over a Dual Rectifier, A 6505, A Mark IV combo, New Marshalls, crate and other things. They're not just great value for money, they're just great. I must I had my VH100R before the Laney phase on this site :D

Didn't JamesHealy say that the internet was invented around the same time as the original Stratocaster design?

i think i'm going mad at the moment. I need to hear a GH50L in person, but no dealers around here have them! i might as well just buy one for the hell of it!! from all the sound clips i've heard, it is perfect.... but i want to hear it!
-
I want a VH100R purely because Matias Eklundh uses it and gets a great tone.
anybody who's heard him talk about gear will tell you he has a sort of "It'll do" attitude towards his rig.
That's good to know because it tells me EXACTLY what it sounds like because of his total lack of interest in the technology of music (aside from overdubs).
