Gah! I don't understand the mentality of the people who make these videos? I mean it all started with those john petrucci ones which were funny but they made so many it became unfunny a bit like Jim Davidson with his 30 year old jokes, come on show some originality!

The avatar does not show cruelty to an animal - rather it shows a pet that has chosen to hump a balloon (with a slightly comical result).
No worse than showing a dog that insists on humping a chair leg or other inanimate object.
Ok there may be a question of the loss of dignity for the pet - but last time I looked - very few pets looked at the internet
But I felt that the clip shows an intention to be mean to an animal in a way that would have a known outcome, and as such seemed cruel.
But since you raise the point I wonder if my avatar seems unkind to others.
Very happy to rethink that one .........

I have to disagree. If you watch his other videos they're not all as geeky as Super bloody Mario. At least he's playing music - which seems a lot more worthwhile (to me) than a load of wanky sweep picked arpeggios or something (although I bet he can do that too :wink: ).
Now on the other hand, if you're questioning the whole concept of practicing 12 hours a day, or whatever, to gain mind-boggling technique, then I tend to agree - but I still wish I had the motivation, focus and determination to do something like that.
