EDDIE AT NAMM:
Nice to see Eddie Van Halen make an appearance at this week's NAMM show. A summary of YouTube captures of Ed performing and talking can be found (as usual) at the best Van Halen website online - VHForums.com.

I saw that yesterday and although not a VH lover was amazed. What the F is wrong with that guy?

I was speaking to a dealer in Colorado today who was at the show and at the Fender dinner. I asked him and he said actually what I had thought, he's Ed and ppl. will buy into it anyway. In fact he has already got sold 4 of those guitars (with yet undecided waiting list) at, get this, drum rollllllllllllllllllll $25,000 a piece!

Wonder how much the one with the Marlboro burn in the headstock (as saw Ed was so F'd up he put it back with it still burning beneath the strings) will go for LOL.

crazy or astute?
Fine line youngun!

Who in their right mind would have bout a McClaren F1? Too fast for any road, so expensive for stonechips etc. etc.
But only so many were made=desireability! And, for those who did, hopefully investment.

You can drive it that fast if you go to a race track or like to live dangerously on motorways

But this guitar is just....no lol I can't describe it in words, that is just money wasted.

and the Blackie was'nt? Or an orig. '59 Les Paul for, ooh, what? $250,000 is'nt?
Youngun, am NOT agreeing with it as A.have not that kinda money and B.not that kinda taste, but many a millionaire has become such through speculation.

I just can't see how people have that much money to spend on a guitar, for a normal person that is a years wages infact a normal person nowadays if you include all the youths and stuff would be earning even less than that.

Joe, don't get me into politics. Just trust me that 'at least' in the US there is alot of disposable income (coupled with debt) esp. with the middle age set, which $25,000 is chump change.
Why not ask the guy in charge here about it, by here I mean UK.

Oh, sorry ya can't, he's off in another country on holiday again, gladhanding for when he does a bunk. ROFLMAO

Gotta love our glorious leader here in the UK.

Not quite sure what Mr Van Halen was up to on the vid I saw though. He looked a bit, well, hammered.  :drink:

Every time I see those guitars, I think how some Fender Custom Shop master builder has spent hours carefully carving the pickup routs to look exactly as if they were hacked out in 10 minutes with a hammer and a screwdriver.  What a total waste of time.

Anyone who wants an EVH guitar should buy some secondhand parts and a few cans of spray paint and just slap them together.  They'd have fun, learn some new skills and end up with a one-of-a-kind guitar.  It might be a piece of sh!t but at least it wouldn't be a $25,000 piece of sh!t.

Sit down, Eddie, shut up and plan the reunion tour.
