Title: New bands?
Post by: Muso on January 26, 2007, 04:23:07 PM
Yo

I'm getting rather bored of my music collection and I was wondering if anyone can reccomend any new fresh bands? It doesn't matter what style just that they are good and original.

I just find that the music scene is full of dinosaurs these days, I have no problem with the old guys but theyre not doing anything new. We need a music revolution soon to make things more interesting!

So if you've made any good discoveries lately post em here.

A band called the noisettes supported muse, and when i saw them at the oxford zodiac they were amazing. Sadly, their studio stuff is generally dire, but hopefully their new album should be a bit better.

'Deloused in the Comatorium' by TMV is an impressive piece of originality.

It is indeed! The newer album was pretty boring though, Frances the Mute or something? I only liked The Widow and one of the other songs on it.

The first album is meant to be good as well, cant think what its called though.

If you haven't got any Dream Theater, put that on your list...

'Deloused in the Comatorium.'
The band have had serious difficulty recreating the magic of that release.
'Amputechture' has fans split down the middle - if you didn't 'get' 'Deloused...' you'll like it, or so it seems. People who were fans of 'Deloused...' tend to loathe it.
I can't comment as I have not heard that one.

Isnt the first one called Tremulant? Or was that after Deloused?

I've been listening to TMV again, I totally forgot about em. Awesome band.

not heard of that one...
Maybe it's a collection of demos and 'Deloused...' is just the first 'label' album...

+1 Communic and Nevermore

check out The Sham Mirrors & La Masquerade Infernale by Arcturus
if you like Dream Theater, check out Adramelch - Broken History
Pink Floyd fan? try Riverside - Second Life Syndrome & Out Of Myself

like very athmospheric, a little bit depressing metal with doomy feel?
definately go for Agalloch - Ashes Against The Grain & The Mantle

black metal-ish growls and melancholic clean vocals combined, as I said very athmospheric hehe
