Title: Joel is a Genius
Post by: Dakine on January 27, 2007, 04:47:50 PM
Well, been Gas'ing for a treble booster for awhile now.
Was gonna wait till next trip back to Texas, but could'nt :)
Anyway, looong time ago local shop had a few Home Brew Electronics pedals in stock (twas where got my Power Screamer way cheap) and were selling em off. Then they got another distributor and re-stocked em (at reg. prices).
Anyhow, went in today and they still had the lil ole yellow pedal I saw way back when for OLD stock price.
So, HBE Germania 44 hadda come home wimme :)
This pedal kicks MAJOR butt.
Gain knob, pretty self explan. Keep low, nice clean chime, turn up, bring on the sleaze!
Lo/fi basic. makes 'buckers perform more like single coils (all freq. stuff but basically does this job). As have no single coil axe's the Hi/fi (which does opposite, basically) single coil more to 'bucker tone, makes a 'bucker go all 'Old School Sabbath/Iommi' to my ears, mental dirt with some fuzz.
Joel EXCELLENT pedal again my friend :)

I haven't tried that one, but the HBE's I have tried have been very, very nice.

I can't decide which one I want to get, lol. Despite some "impulse" (for me) purchases recently, I'm still a procrastinator at heart.

It's always nice to get a bargain too.
