Had some trouble getting my strat to sound ok with the splawn..
found a loose wire in the strat this afternoon due to my dodgy soldering skills...
anyway heres what the splawn really sounds like.. and it's pretty fantastic

Sounds really good to me if a bit low gain/fat for Van Halen style tone. Great playing though :)
Now, I need to decide, VHII or Nailbomb for my Charvel

low gain? are u barmy?

Very good version of the classic solo, nice tone too.
Though i prefer Van Halen's version  haha.

I'm with Tom on this - too much bass and no bite is making it sound like it's running through four 12" doughnuts :? Your previous clips were, to me, much nicer sounding.
Nice tapping though ;)

lol twin.. each to there own but i think it's the microphone that makes it sound dull.. coz it still sounds pretty bright in real life.

i liked it.
:drink:

I liked it too
If I was goinf to say anything I would say that the rhythm tone could possibly do with being a little warmer for my tastes, but that really is a taste thing

I thought that might be the case. Glad you didn't take my comment too personally

Great playing and i liked the tone.Thick and warm to these ears.

The lead tone rocks.
I agree with the others that the rhythm sounds a little muddy and even a touch boxy, but I can easily see how that could be the mic, being as they have a massive mid hump and no top end.
I was in Brighton recording the other day and even with a combination of two mics on the cab, I couldn't believe how difficult it was to make the recording sound as good as the live amp.
