Title: New Laney range.....
Post by: aj_gibbo on February 04, 2007, 11:03:08 AM: Has anyone got any information on the new Laney Lionheart range of amps? I've seen basic details in a few guitar mags regarding price etc. but what's the deal with them as they are a lot more expensive than Laney's usual amp line-up?

I can't wait to try one though, and the 5 watt combo could be just what I'm looking for.....if I can stop myself from buying the 20 watt 4x10 combo that is! :D

but i'm somewhat reluctant to buy a laney below 30W or any of their solid state range, cos they're not the best of the bunch. (though from the below 30W range i only have experience with two separate LC15R amps and they both blew chunks)

what's the point of an all tube low wattage amp, if noone can afford it. this is seriously DUMB. i dont see them selling too well for that kind of money. people will rather buy the epi amps, just cos it's so affordable.

I'd expect them to be a serious jump up in quality to their 'normal' range of amps. The Epi amps are great value, but the build quality isn't great (you get what you pay for).

I actually like it (strangely enough, its rather dark clean tones work great for jazz) and it has been reliable since I got it new.

Is that bad? :twisted:

So let's see, maybe the lionheart 5W will be the Cornford/Matamp killer?
