Hello
I'm looking for a new pup for my LP.
I don't want a very hot pup, I prefer to increase the gain on my amp.
I'd like a pickup that sound raw, warm and fat, with growl and bite, in a vintage way, very clear, that let the guitar sounds, but which support high gain for palm muting and modern music.
the mule? but perhaps too less output?
the crawler? but too hot?
thanks for the help

i'd have said the mule myself - it'll do vintage classic LP perfectly, but dig in hard and yu can easily spew out some metal on it.
What kind of bands tones do you like?
What set-up are you using?

is it for the neck or bridge or both? i have a set of vhIIs. the neck is warm and clear and the bridge is raw and can really chug. i havent played any other bkps but im sure somebody else with a bit more experience can help.
cant go wrong with a vhII tho :P

I dont know if the Mules will be really as raw as you want but they sound really good to me in my guitar. I have a load of recordings in the link in my sig..

For the type of sound your describing, I would definatly go with a Rebel Yell!

thanks for the answers.
I play a burny LP in a custom tube amp (high gain).
I play mostly punk, rock, blues and metal sometimes (but I have the SG + warpig for that)

I would have said Mule too, but for something slightly hotter .... what about Black Dogs or Emeralds?
