Price Paid: Too much
Features: 1
For starters, this guitar has only 2 pickups, both humbuckers. What if I need a P-90 sound for a song or two? And it's a solid-body, so if I want the warm, woody tones of a fine archtop, I've actually have to buy one of those.
Looks like I'm going to have to continue my search for the one axe that can duplicate every classic guitar sound of the last four decades.
Sound: 1
Plugged straight into my combo amp, this guitar failed to produce the sort of unique and unforgettable tone it takes producers and professional musicians months to create in the studio. In other words, it sounds like ass.
Action, fit and finish: 1
Straight out of the box, the strings were .001" higher than I like them, forcing me to rotate two thumb screws a quarter turn MYSELF. As shipped: 1. With my adjustments: 10.
Finish is OK, but I'll bet I'm going to have to avoid dropping my guitar over a cliff if I want it stay that way.
Customer Support: 1
As of this writing, my phone calls to everyone named Gibson in the Nashville phonebook continue to go unanswered.
Overall: 1
If this guitar were lost or stolen, I would check the discussion boards to see what everyone's raving over and buy one of those instead.

is that serious???????????

 nice one Ratty. I agree 100% about the action.

ratrod, you need this to make it complete  :
Price Paid: $150 from pawn shop

It has a humbucker and a single coil! So this can do both LP tones AND Strat tones!! It has a black body but I dont know what wood it is. I think it's either mahogany or alder imho. It weighs about 3 pounds.
Sound quality: 10
OMG! played thru my Line 6 Spider II amp my guitar does everything you could possibly imagine! I have been playing guitar for two month but I know what a good guitar tone is. With my set up I can get it to sound EXACTLY like Jimi Hendrix or Slash or Metallica. I cant hear any difference between this and teh originals and imo it gives better LP tones than my friend's Gibson imo. He says my guitar sounds rubbish but I think he is just jealous.
Action, Fit and Finish: 10
I didnt have to make any adjustments at all to play this guitar. IMO if your any good you dont need to set up your guitar.
Customer support: 10
the guy at the shop discounted $10 for me
Overall: 10
My guitar is better than real Gibsons or Fenders and it only cost $150. I think people are stupid because all you have to have is a guitar with a humbucker and a single coil and this can do everything both guitars can do. My guitar rules and it's better than yours.

LOL at this thread!

You need some spelling mistakes in there, Ratty. And some mention of a Zoom multi-FX. And possibly the word "suxxxx".
And I personally enjoy the HC reviews which are written ENTIRELY IN CAPITALS.
Having said all that, there's some very useful info on HC, if you're patient enough to go through all the reviews and find the ones written by people who know their stuff.
-
i think... the only reviews you will ever need are the Rip Glitter reviews!

YEAH!!!! hahahaa im so embarrassed that i have one, sounds terrible!
there is some useful stuff yes, but it takes a lot of reading as you said. also, you need opinions that agree with each other, e.g 3 people say it has a bright sound, and the other reviews don't mention it.

haha, +1

Dont forget the If it was stolen bit!
If it was stolen, the guy at the pawn shop said it would metamorphasise into a rabid Yak, and emit gamma-alpha-hydra-oxide rays, which would kill every sinner in a 5-mile radius.
I was a bit suspicious when he said that, but why would anyone attempting to sell me a guitar lie?

Hahahahaha!
This thread has given me the best laugh I've had all day. Both those HC-alikes were spot on in their own ways. Damn good point about the spelling thing too, and dont get me started on CAPITALS - they make my damn eyeballs itch.
There is sometimes useful stuff on there, trouble is, more often than not you have to trawl through a page of badly written bollocks to get to it.
-
BUT CAPTILAS MAEK ME SOUND IMPOORTANT....?

I copped this one off another board. There actually is a review very close to this on Harmony Central but I can't be bothered to search through the 136,953 Les Paul reviews.
