Gordon smith gs2 what they like.....already have a grad slimline...which I love but they have a gs2 at reasonable price on there site and willing to remove there pickups..and drop price even further(obviously would fit BKP's)
-
Is it the regular GS-2 or the Deluxe?
I have a GS-1 and it's like what it is - a Les Paul Junior with a Mule :D
-
they're willing to remove the pickups as well (and deduct the cash)?
interesting... I'm not after any of those ones on there at the moment, but I might keep that in mind for later, in case they get some more I might be interested in.

I never played a GS that wasnt underpriced as-is. If its your bag, go for it.
-
tis deluxe...and going for 460 without pickups
-
alright next question would a set of MM go well in a gs2 deluxe
-
The Deluxe is made of spruce and has a light, bright tone - think of an airier SG and you'll get the picture. As long as the MM isn't too bright, it should sound good. My mate's Deluxe is very resonant, which helps with harmonics etc.

ditto. If I hadn't found an Eggle that was even more under-priced (and the GS customs hadn't taken about 6 months' wait), I'd probably have a GS by now.
And, in fact, knowing now that they'll subtract the cost of pickups (even on those special offers ones), I'm extremely interested- I'm going to keep a very keen eye on that accessories page in the future, lol. Thanks for the tip, SG!

well if you don't ask you don't find out...thats my policy....don't always get the answer you want though *L*
-
^ heh, yeah. I just assumed they'd only subtract the pickup costs in custom ones, because those "special offer" ones already have pickups in them.

One thing to be a little wary of is the routing inside the guitars pickup cavity.
I know Gordon Smith tend to only remove enough wood to fit the 'stock' pickups (IE, the 1st pickups the guitar has when made), in. So you may need to route a little to get the BKs fitted :)
-
^ cr@p, I forgot about that.

yeah had a little fun with a long leg Mqueen in my grad 60 slimline..no routing...just a tight fit
-
My Mule fitted in my GS-1 fine, as did my MQ in my SG-1. Had to bend the legs a little at the edges but that was it.
-
yeah cut legs a little to fit
