Just wondering if anyones heard of them?

Quite possably some of the best drinking metal you'l ever here :-)

Yes, we somehow ended up discussing folk metal on this (http://www.bareknucklepickups.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6876&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0) thread a little while ago.

I got Korpiklaani's Voice Of Wilderness album straight away.  The beer, hunting and beer-hunting songs are great fun, but I must admit I actually prefer the folkier tracks.  It's all good stuff!

Sounds like Dropkick Murpphies on steroids.

This band shoul be able to throw quite the party at a fest.

Yeah, one of my friends in Finland turned me on to them.  I'm a sucker for folk music, metal, and beer, so it was all a beautiful thing!  8)

I like these guys! Saw them at Wacken Open Air.

I prefer Finntroll though on the whole... but both are amazing party \ festival bands 8)


Check out Ensiferum aswell, similarish style band :)

Theres gotta be a faster light speed thrash polka band somewhere...probably from Finland or Russia ;) \m/

Very likely! :)  I did once, in the States, see a band that billed itself as "Mennonite speed metal" -- and I kinda think I saw another that billed itself as "Hassidic speed metal" -- but it's possible that I hallucinated at least one of those (if not both .....).  It was a long time ago, and I may not have been fully with it  :lol:

A friend recently brought me back some Estonian folk-metal, and it was very good, but not in the same vibe as Finntroll and Korpiklaani.  There's something in the water up there though .... It's probably the aquavit!  :twisted:
