Title: Samba Pa Ti on Black Dogs
Post by: hunter on February 17, 2007, 07:09:13 AM
Same old same old :o)

Epiphone Les Paul / Black Dogs / Cable / Shiva Ch2 boost off low volume

... and a hunter who only knows half the song

Ok ok, this is cheesy, but hadn't it been used on too many pron movies, it would still be a great song ...

Nice tone!  Is that the raw clip, or have you done any "tidying" apart from the overdubbed harmonies?

Thanks man. Just listened to the real one and realised that the original sound is completely different ... huh?

No tidying, just bit of limiting on the master. The 2nd guitar is already in the backing track, so that's not my own overdub ...

Also no reverb or sth ... that's how the shiva sounds through an SM57

I wouldn't go that far.

It's an OK interpretation, not bad.

I'm trying to learn how to improvise and finding it tough going, which may be why I love your clips. You always seem to add your own bits and they fit the feel of the song beautifully. I was surprised by the comment that the playing was a bit sloppy as frankly I'd kill to be able to play that well!!

Never mind the sloppy note here and there. I doubt Santana himself could play it flawless in one take. The palying was very tastfull. Nice and smooth. It does sound a bit bass heavy but then, that's what that amp is supposed to do, innit?

Very good clip. I enjoyed listening to it.
