Title: Is $80 for a pickup change and setup reasonable?
Post by: adamzap on February 18, 2007, 06:18:02 AM
(Since Feline is across the ocean ;)) I brought my guitar to a local guy for the BKP installation, and he charges $37.50 for electronics work plus $40 per hour. All amounts in US Dollars ;)

How does this price compare to you guys' techs?

I must say, I really like supporting this guy, so I don't mind paying this amount.

Well, when I got one BKP installed in my Flying V and had the action lowered and set up with new strings, etc, the guy only charged me £25.  John Shuker- legend. :D

It's probably about the market price I'd imagine.

$37.50 = £20
Cheap if that is all it would cost
But overall $80 =£40 which would seem like a very fair deal if the guitr is nicely set up to play

yep, $80 for to install a pickup and do a setup sounds very fair to me.
