Maverick Species
Washburn Boogie street guitars Boogiebolt
Gibson les paul Custom
Awesome!

i would say either Warpigs or Miracle Man set. Miracle Man is tighter, Warpigs are heavier. it depends what you want.
hey, dude, that boogiebolt is $%ing awesome!! i saw a video advert for one of those.... it looks insane!!!!!!
ah another TG fan too........ who likes metal!!!

Haha Metal all the way brother \m/....
hmmm i dont think i could buy the miracle man to be honest i dont know why they just sound abit gay compared to "!!WARPIGS!!" hehe and heavy is always good
oh man the boogiebolt is absolutly stunning, if any of you have a chance to buy a boogie street guitar then do it straight away they have a shop on ebay some beautiful guitars and all limited runs, the nick catanese idol is stunning.... with bkp's they'd be unstoppable.... theres no expense spared at all the best woods, best parts just awesome.. and a great price
the boogiebolt is from a limited run of 50 its a mahogany body and neck, ebony fretboard, mother of pearl and abalone inlays, a real thick maple cap looks gorgeous, grover tuners, schaller floyd rose, came fitted with seymour duncans 59 in the neck and a dimebucker in the bridge.. though i replaced the dime yesterday with a bill lawrence l-500xl which is insane.... when you play this guitar you just feel like your dime.. ;o)

The species is one of my least favorite Mavericks. It lacks the visual impact of the other guitars or the fun of a floyd.
Still better than the Jim Root model - it's just an RG with a slightly different headstock but then that's what he asked for...
Still, should sound alright and the upper fret access would be unparalleled by anything bar an SG.
-
yeah blood definatly check boogie street out....
and maverickf1jockey dude you are sooooo wrong i have owned a maverick streetfighter sf1 (the most exspensive guitar maverick make) an f3 and an X1 and have played an f1 none of them even come close to equaling the build quality of the species its a whole different league, the neck whoops all the others ass, plus ive got the washburn for the floyd stuff which is absolutely amazing compared to the maverick floyds and i thought the maverick floyds were good before i git the washburn.
-
by the way are there any sound clips of warpigs or MM's in basswood bodys

You do realise that in Neck-thru guitars very little of the guitar's tone is governed by the body wings? it is in fact mostly dictated by the neck material., which makes up the majority of the guitar, including the important places where the bridge and pickups are mounted...
You should probably be looking for clips of them in maple bodies
-
I say get a ceramic warpig bridge and a alnico neck, best of both worlds then. i used to have a couple of species but i had to sell them cause i was skint. truly awesome guitars. Ill be getting another one soon.
-
OH yeah forgot to say their actually a set-thru neck (a set neck but the heel is sculpted so its like a thru-neck. just thought id say that. its also quite a dark sounding guitar for a basswood body.
-
hey indysmith thanks for the info dude i never knew that....
and jackbauer i like people who know what they are talking about.... you sir are one of those people, yeah would the ceramic in the bridge and alnico in the neck actually be ok and balanced ? has anyone tried it?
and as for selling species HELL NO you shouldnt do it they are awesome i really wouldnt sell mine.... that and the washburn and im sorted, Wooo!
cheers :orcass:

They should be absolutely fine especially if you order them together and Tim will do you a calibrate the set for you. also how are you going to wire them up? i recommend a 5-way switch with the neck parallel in the 4 position and the bridge coil tapped in the second. That way you'll get some really nice cleans and leads from the neck pickup. But thats just me.
-
yeah that sounds awesome actually at the minute i changed the 5 way switch to a 3 way for the emg's ive got in it, but yeah i'd definatly do that with the 5 way if i could get all the wiring schematics i can fit pickups easily, but when it comes to splitting and stuff i dont have a clue....

I never said it was cr@p. I just said it didn't look as good as the others. Anyway; a lacquered neck couldn't possibly compete with my prototype neck with a maple fretboard and satin finish for feel IMO. mine is the best I've played in my life; even compared to the other mavericks I've tried. I do however agree that the sculpting of the neck joint would make it drastically more comfortable on the upper frets on the bass strings.
Have you ever managed to find the 7 string version?
If it had a floyd and a satin finished maple fretboard neck I'd be the first to track it down and give it a good play.
-
i owned the first streetfighter prototype and yeah the neck was great but i really do prefer the species, and oh man a 7string species with a floyd would be totally awesome.... im sure theres some floating about somewhere
-
No they only ever made them with the string through bridge.
What a waste.
Give me that neck joint on my guitar and i'd have the PERFECT Maverick.
BTW yours seems to be post-beergut ie a newer model.
to me Mavericks have to have the roller knobs and the ribbed hardware. It's a shame they decided to change 'Ribbed for your pleasure' however, the new pup selector DOES look like a clitoris...
Can anyone shed light upon why the headstock changed shape?
-
I contacted them awhile ago as they sometimes do custom work for customers i asked if they would make me a species with an alder body like the f3, and a 7 string species with a floyd.... but they said they weren't making any customer orders at the minute  but then i found the boogie street washburn so im happy
yeah your exactly right thats the only thing i didnt like about all my other mavericks.... me and bolt on necks just dont get on, they just feel cheap for some reason compared to the sculpted beautifulness on the species joint
when did the headstock change? all my mav's have had the same style headstock even the first ever streetfighter was the same as the species except for the binding of course and the streetfighter being reversed.... the only different headstock ive seen is on the g series (the les paul lookin ones) ?
-
Check out the earlier models (with the ribbing and direct mount pickups) compared with their later editions (with the clit and the Pup rings) the headstocks are a different shape; the newer ones having a sort of 'beergut' effect when placed vertical. The early headstocks are more like an Ibanez but with a more protruding lower point on the tip.
