Is it pertinent to ask what the low down on the new BKP humbuckers will be?
In particular I am interested in the spec for the Abraxas and Cold Sweat sets as I will soon be turning my attentions to the Les Paul and BKP'ing as I deem fit!
Obviously The Mules, VHII, Black Dog's and Emerald's are all in contention (want something that can push an amp into overdrive yet clean up nicely, yet it's got to be big and open - I'm thinking John Sykes era Whitesnake or possibly even Gary Moore Still Got The Blues tone, in fact I want it all! :) )
Also, pondering using 4 conductor wiring and rigging the guitar up with coil splits and series/parallel via push/push pots.

Abraxis should be Santana-ish. Dragon II.

I think the Abraxas comes in 2 flavours - Alnico IV and Alnico V. Depends on the guitar you are putting them into and also what the overall sound you want. The V's will drive more (obviously!).
I am putting a set of IV's into a 53 LP. This has been converted to 58 specs, but is very light. After talking with Tim, we agreeed that the IV's would be better for this guitar. However the pickups are still very new and Tim hasn't road tested them yet, so I don't know when they will be released, or when I will get my set PDT_043
It's all back to Tim to answer this PDT_002

Dragon IIs!!! Oh Raty how could you.............I hope the Abraxas will set the record striaght on those once and for all :D
As with all these things, I don't like to rush R&D and they'll come out when I'm 100% satisfied they do what I want them to.
The Cold Sweats I'm pretty much done with-in fact Steve Stevens has got one on test this week so it'll be interesting to see what comments he makes.
Also forum member Steve, has a set in his LP which seem to be going down rather well.
I've got to do all the box text and artwork next so not long now!!

Wow! Me and Steve Stevens in the same paragraph, he must feel so honoured! Joke.
All ill say about the Cold Sweat humbuckers is they ROCK!!

Those pickups aren't many people's cup o' tea. Actually I find all those PRS pickups too wooly.

With the appearance of new pickups, will there be any overall updates to the various pickup descriptions (as was variously ruminated over in a long and winding thread)?
I'm increasingly keen to learn more concrete information about the characteristics of different models in the the existing pickup line, and I worry that I'll just get more overwhelmed as more models appear! (I still love those sample charts that TwilightOdyssey did up! :))

Absolutely................it's on my mind all the time.
Some good suggestions have been made from the forum and a few privately which have given me some ideas of how to go ahead with product profile.............what I desperately need is a window of time in which to sit down quietly and write it all out.
My plan is for a totally new look to the product profile pages on the site, along with improved descriptions, applications and suggested usage.
Please be patient though..........I got pickups to make too you know  .

Natch! :)
But, ya know, I gotta ask :) Eventually I gotta decide which pickups I want you to make for me! (Yeah, I know: "all of them!" But I only have one guitar at present, so I've got to narrow the field down to at least 2 :).)
