Right, this song played by anyone but Jimmy Page himself can only be an attempt, so please excuse if I lose the plot here and there
There are no cuts / overdubs / FX or anything, just a cheap guitar (Epi LP) with bouteek pickups (Calibrated Black Dog set) into a bouteek amp (Bogner Shiva).
I did switch in the Shiva lead boost for the solo, but shouldn't have, as I think it sounds better with less gain ...
Mic'ed on a G12H30 with an SM57 on axis centered.

I was planning on doing this song some time! Maybe I could do it later, could perhaps show the difference between the BD and Mules (though the amp is much different..). I dont actually know it properly though, would just be a sort of improv thing
I dont think mine will be any better than this though, really like your version!

Blasphemical man!
But nice, playing and tone are right there and a nice tribute to god!
I wouldn't have imagined a Bogner to sound so "vintage"- really nice, quite Marshall-like.

Great tone!
Nice playing!
I love Shiva's...and BKP's :)
-
hell yes! great tone there man!
That amp sounds really nice and warm, I own the mule myself, alnico IV and it's awesome for that vintage humbucker tone, I love it's bite!
I think you've done the track justice, I wouldn't have the guts to attempt it myself lol

That sounded great!!!
I can't wait for my set of Mules to show up at my door!

Many thanks all, I am flattered ... but you did realise these were Black Dogs, not Mules ...?

Yeah, I knew that...I'm just excited about my mules. :D
After listening to your track again, I'll consider the Black Dog for my next pup. 8)

I quite like the sound of the boosted tone.
Excellent playing, too!

NO way, it sounds better with MORE GAIN
Q:p
ahahahahahahahahahahahah
Adn if you close the High knob a little, you will have a great vintage surprise ,i believe
but the way it is, is Already Good

oh, yes!

great recording, definitely done it justice. and i'm with WFD, i think that that part at least, sounds better with the extra distortion than it would otherwise.
