I have accomplished my first guitar operation tonight :D
Very Happy. Seems to me like it went smoothly :P
Razz. Of course only the testing will tell
Rolling Eyes.
I started with the Epiphone: magnet swap for the neck pickup AV to AIV. Installation of a treble bleed on each pickup. Apart from the fact I nearly melted the the splitting wire from the bridge pup... I think I did well.
Last task will be to insert and pot the neck pup in its new cover. I need to go shopping for some wax. Speaking of which, I was wondering: I know where to get beeswax. But I am not sure on where to get paraffin. Would there be any wrong doing in potting the pup with beeswax only. I know that the melting temperature is slightly higher, but is it an issue? PDT_022
So tomorrow morning shopping. Tomorrow afternoon potting. And tomorrow evening testing! It'll be really cool as I haven't played the Epi for two month now... since it started breaking D string in a row. Which remind me I smoothen the saddles as well. Should be a player! :guitar4: :D

congrats man you learning about the nightmares you can have soldering?
the beeswax thing shouldn't be that much of a problem but you should try and find some parrifin... check eBay.

I still haven't put the guitar back together with all the parts. But honestly I thought the soldering went nice and easy. I might find out the result is rubbish but I think the joints are clean enough. So it's not really a nightmare so far.
I should set it up tomorrow and take a few pics I'll post.
