Got my new toy, a Lexicon MX200 for the loop of my Shiva. Plugged it in and was in Gary Moore land right away. This FX is only 220 EUR and it has all I need - I absolutely love its sound - guess I'll sell a whole lots of pedals now...
Thought I'd share the experience with you.
Setup:
MM Axis
=> Calibrated Rebel Yell set
=> Bogner Shiva
=> Lexicon MX200 in loop
=> Vintage30 side of Heritage 2x12 Cab
=> SM57 on axis on the corner of the speaker
=> Logic w/ adaptive limiter
Can't wait for my VHIIs to arrive for my Singlecut SE ...

Nice tone and playing! :) The Shiva sounds amazing!

Thanks man, I agree with the Shiva. Only drawback for me so far was that I thought I couldn't use the FX loop, but the mistake was to use floor pedals - I just had to use a high quality studio line level device.
And man these Lexicon reverbs are a pure pleasure!!!
Actually I find the sound of the shiva better with the Lexicon in the loop, even on bypass :?:

Really liked these clips :) Your tone is always so thick and rich (if that makes sense), I love it.

Wow...
I think that's what's going to have to go in my HSS ibanez.
So, rack units are far better in the fx loops than pedals?
I think im going to have to get a T.C Electronics G-Major...

Thanks mate, I always love your Mule clips for their clarity!
When I look at my fingers I'm not surprised it sounds thick :wink:

Well, I couldn't generalise this, there surely are amps that do just fine with floor units with Instrument level, but for sure not the Bogner Shiva.
I guess with some gear it always needs some swapping around with stuff until it's right. I was lucky to have the right cab but it took me a year and lots of gear until I discovered what works in this loop - anyways, I think it's worth it.

Hi Hunter, great clips! Just wondering what mesurements you have in terms of p'up heights(with the last fret pressed). Thanks, Stephen.

Nothing spectacular, measured 4mm bridge and 5mm neck yesterday when fretted on 22nd.
But this differs from guitar to guitar and I always do it by the ear, never by the ruler.

Hi,
I am rehearsing a lot these days, as we'll have two gigs next two weeks and almost 100% new lineup, playing mainly 90s and 00s rock covers.
This requires a lot of different sounds, i.e. a very versatile guitar.
Now here's the news: The SE Singlecut, with VHII set and push/push coil split is just the most awesome work horse you can think of. It does the strat /p90 thing so well, the neck HB is the perfect pickup for legato sweetness and the bridge HB is just pure stakkato crunch.
Beyond all the different colors for awesome clean, crunch and lead tones, this combination also delivers the most awesome chunky bass response I ever had on a guitar.
The VHIIs are - compared to the Black Dogs - more different than I expected, but in a great way. All these rehearsals in the past weeks I couldn't believe that there could be so many different and all useful sounds in two humbuckers.
This set is another master piece from BKP, a truly fantastic product.
