I have big hands, and to be honest there are times when the neck of my SG feels a little cramped. Plus, I need an excuse to buy more BKPs :)
So I was wondering what you guys would recommend guitar wise for a wide neck? I have basically only ever owned SGs up to this point, and feel it might be nice to own something else for once :) Couple of caveats:
Must have a bridge humbucker.
Musn't look too much like a strat.
Any opinions appreciated!

gordon smiths? eggles?
budget?

PRS SE Singlecut is 100% what you looking for

Budget ... up to around 600 of our British quids.
Some more info:
Pickups not important as I intend to swap them out.
Would like something good for low gain rock / blues as my SG is warpigged up: metal needs well met already :) Something with good sustain ... warm sounding.
Eggles look very tempting ... perhaps a bit pricey though.
Gordon Smith GS2 would go nicely with the SG. That is very tempting actually, espec as they come coil tapped already.

That guitar is sweet. I'm going down Demark St next weekend ... will definitely give one a try. I think you could be right Hunter :) Ta!

Tokai (http://www.richtonemusic.co.uk/index.php?cPath=1_2&sort=20a&main_page=index&filter_id=5)
or theres plenty of people about here who have good things to say about edwards, as well.

Rose Morris on DK Street have a PRS Singlecut Satin in the window of one of their shops. Saw it today and god it's beautiful. Was £1999 in the window but I'm pretty sure you can push it down.

I doubt he can push it down to £600 though
Tokai Loverock
Dean Hardtail Select

I beginning to think this is going to become one of those hide-the-credit-card-bill guitar shopping trips :)

Didn't see the budget post xD
Ahh well, the SE Singlecuts are also very nice. Loved the pre-lawsuit one dunno about the new ones :s

I thought PRS won that law suit (or defended successfully)? In fact ...
http://www.mi-pro.co.uk/news/1092/Gibson-lawsuit-ends-with-PRS-victory
Did Gibson ever try and sue any of their many other immatators? Tokai seem to cut pretty close to the bone appearance wise too.
Edit: Before I have to mod myself off-topic, back to the guitars :)
What is the difference (other than looks) between the satin finish PRS Singlecut and the satndard one with the maple top? 'Cos the satin one seems to cost twice as much. I can see its twice as good looking, but still ...
And does anyone have an opinion on how the Tokais compare to PRS? Build quality is my main concern, and also the qulaity of the stock pups ... if I don't have to immediately swap the pups for BKPs I can go another 100 quid I guess :)

They won, but they changed the entire range anyway.
And the lawsuit was about how the body met the neck on the uncut side, PRS met the neck at a 90 degree angle, while all other makes curve into the neck.
Tokai and PRS aren't really comparable imo. One is an extremely high quality reputable guitar make, and the other is a japanese copy make.

ESP Mirage Custom or Mirage II.

SP Mirage Custom or Mirage II.
Budget again man :p
Although heads up to the M-II, a friend of mine has the urban camo and we were jamming together yesterday - Camo Viper and Urban Camo M-II just looks too cool :>
I prefer my viper slightly simply cos it has the thinner neck and the stop tail.
Back to the topic...

Curse that damn money stuff ... never have enough of it around :)
-
some places have deals on eggles and eggle prototypes if you keep an eye out...
if you can't find any of those, I say Gordon Smith, probably. plus, they'll remove the cost of their pickups if you don't need them.

The SE Singlecut does have the all Mahogany thing with Maple cap. It's got a thinner body than a les paul (just like a Heritage 140CM) but a fat wide neck with the slightly longer scale.
That means great acoustic qualities with more space on the neck both ways, in length and width.
Regarding quality, I can say there's not much on it, but the stuff that is there is absolutely flawless, at least on mine. Pickups are OK for a while, but I am waiting for my VHIIs to arrive for it.
Might be worth looking at the new semi hollow SE though.
