I just got my new Ear Candy Sovereign 1x12 cab. I put a Celestion Sidewinder in it. What an amazing sound! If you don't know about Ear Candy you should check out their web site (http://www.earcandycabs.com/). I have never heard such a great sound from just changing the cab. I plugged in my McIntyre Bluesmaker with my 54 LP and the sound from the P-90's was awesome.
The workmanship is also incredible, they cover the cabs in elephant grain tolex in any style you like. They claim that their 1x12 Sovereign can beat any 2x12 and even some 4x12's and now I know why! The guy who owns the company is a fanatic about tone and gets his woods made specially. Interestingly, his name is also Tim!!
I already have 2 other cabs on order, one is a 1x15 for my bass (this will also get a Sidewinder), and the other is a custom build head and 2x10 cab for my 8 watt class A amp. The 2x10 will use an Eminence Ramrod and Lil' Buddy.
I'm already thinking of selling my Avatar 2x12 so I can get a Buzz Bomb!!
The picture was before I put the speaker in, but it lets you see the quality.

I've been looking at some Ear Candy cabs for a while and they look like AMAZING for the price
But I havn't found out do they make slant vertical 2x12 and will they ship it internationally?
Is it possible for you to make soundclips with the new cab and the old one to hear the difference?

I've heard great things on HC etc. Nice!
:drink:

Looks like all the good cabs are being made in the US ... quite dissapointing!

Aye.

I would love to get a BuzzBomb or two, loaded with Eminence Swamp Things and/or Tonkers.
Glad you like the cabinet so much. :D

Ermmm, ever heard of Orange, Matamp, Engl, Framus, Diezel ...?
I guess those are European brands that make decent cabs dude

I got a chance to play through the cabinet today, using a Minimat as well as a Splawn Quick Rod.
The cabinet is very very clean; there is no chuffing and it is quite neutral. The Sidewinder will also handle serious SPLs without any strain.
All in all, a nice 1x12 solution ...

I'm thinking about getting 2 1x12 cabs to make my setup a bit more portable/flexible - take 1 cab for practises, and 2 for gigs etc.. Would you say with a good cab such as these it'd sound "big" enough?
I guess it'd be really expensive to ship em over to the UK though
-
Phil - that cab looks great
I also use Celestion Sidewinders - very good speaker
I use a Rivera cabinet as it is strong and has a good sound, as well as 2 Marshall 1912 (1x12") cabs
I would still like to try the Genz Benz G-Flex cab though

I'd love a Genz aswell.
Not too expensive either :p

Ive got a G flex 2x12 and its very good. The bass is huge! But not to say it hasnt got mids or highs. It has a very different feel to any other cabs, closed or open, because it is ported. Kinda like halfway between closed and open. It sounds like the sound is coming "through" the cabinet rather than the cabinet "pumping" the sound out, if that makes sense. Dont get me wrong it has plenty of punch I just meant that as in the sound is delivered smoothly.

Gotta love the weight of the Rivera cabs! PDT_008
I thought my Hiwatt was heavy, as I've been using it for gigging of late. But on Saturday I took my Rivera 4x12 out of storage ... and that cab is a MONSTER!!! It is the most heavy cab in the world!! I'm sure your 2x12 is similar.

eBay lol. I think the guy that owned it before got it from Electro Music in Doncaster.
