well i have a tab for a song written out but i wasnt to change the 6 string guitar (clean part) to 4 string bass but i have no knowledge or experience doing this and would like to know if anyone could help???
-
i don't really get the question. :?
it wont stop me putting my opionion in though
If you have put chords to your guitar part thats written & if your trying to put a bass part to it the easiest way is to start by just playing the root notes of the chords in time with the rhythm
- otherwise (and the way i play bass) you can play whatever comes into your head & as long as you stick to the right pentatonic scale you cant go wrong!!!
or you could copy the guitar riff!
i think really you need to know what your trying to achieve sound wise. let me know if i have gone off track & what you really needed to know!

Just to clarify:
Do you have the professionally transcribed tab from a book or magazine?
Do you want to play the clean guitar part on the bass or do you want to play a bassline?
At worst just follow the chord changes playing the fundamental in the bass.

and i want someone to rewrite it onto a 4 string bass part
-
OK basically the bottom 4 strings (c, g, c, f) on the tab represent your 4 bass strings, asuming you've tuned it the same as the guitar.
All you need to do is take the open notes played on the a and play 4th fret on the f
Everything else is the same, hope this helps.
