You know... For a guy who can make magic music, everytime I see live clips - even vintage in this case I wonder what the feck is going on..

He must have been drunk most of his life...

On this evidence, I understand why Randy Rhoads thought that he was all "tricks" and rated George Lynch more highly.

I just admire and fail to understand the guy to an equal extent.

I always hated it back in the 80s when every rock/metal gig would include an unaccompanied solo spot from the guitarist.  Just totally pointless wanking.

Don't get me wrong, I love seeing musicians showing off their "chops" (as our American friends might say), but play an instrumental.  With a bass player.  And a drummer.  It's called music...

I think that article that said Randy rated EVH more highly was an interview in the Guitar Legaends with Kevin DuBrow. Randy admitted in more than one interview to "borrowing" from Eds chops.

Most of that was just noise.

I'm not sure how he had the nerve to stand up there and play a solo spot that badly.

Is it just me, or had Eddie perhaps been watching Mr. Young before the show? (and forgot to add a tune and some rythmn)

Lol. no way!
But just to be clear, Angus Young is IMO untouchable as a live Rock guitarist, and I was simply noting the similarity in Eddie's stage show to one of the true greats :)

BB King just bores the tits off me these days - thats probably one of the worst clips I've ever seen of him too (quite a few duff notes).  Here's a MUCH better one...
