Im thinking of getting a cheapo guitar to leave at my girlfriends flat just coz I cant stand not playing guitar for whole weekends. I dont wanna spend much more than £80 what do you recommend? So far Im thinking ARIA STG003 or a Yamaha Pacifica 112 are they any good?

I guess it depends on what you want to play. I've not used an aria but was pretty impressed by my father-in-law's pacifica. I've also got a couple of Squier Tele's that I picked up second hand for about 90 quid each and they're actually of a far higher quality than I expected too! :)
Other than that, you could pick up a cheap nylon string acoustic and impress her with a bit of faux-flamenco style playing. She'll be like putty in your hands after that!

Pacifica's are good for the money. +1 on the spanish guitar. I've got a 3/4 size dodgy old spanish guitar. It cost £12.50 and I haven't changed the strings in the 7 or so years that I've had it. Probably play it more than any other guitar, I love it. Got too many guitars though so it's going to my mates kids over the next week or so.

lol I guess that's an idea. I dont know any flamenco style though but I guess I could fake it by playing E and Am and do fiddly stuff  I hate the action on classical guitars but it'll probably be good for my playing.
I might get one of those Fernandes travel guitars they look interesting but are a bit more money...

i have a pacifica at my girlfriend's house. it's sweet and covers all bases. Can't be beaten for the price.

i have my brothers pacifica 112 here that he didn't take to uni..... it rocks! yep, it covers all bases well, and plays extremely well for the price!

Another vote for the pacifica. Ultimate cheap guitar.

A couple of my students have had the cheap Pacifica gtr. I find them to be virtually unplayable. A Squire solid body will play better, though I don't know how much they run.

you could be talking about the pacifica 012 there

^ Could be, I don't really know from Pacifica guitars.

i have a pacifica 312. i think its the same as a 112 but a nicer finish. dont think they make them anymore. its a sweet guitar though. the H-S-S arangements versatile and it plays nice :)
i think yamaha are well underrated guitars. great value for money!

I have a Pacifica 112 with a Nailbomb and 2 Trilogies 8) It ROCKS!

Ah it's good to know that pacifica is a good guitar. I was looking at 112MX it looks killer with natural finish, maple neck and black pickguard 8)
no opinions on the Aria then? Its uber cheap and it has the right spec (alder, 5 way switch etc) at least on paper.

that's the one i have! it looks killer in person too. i'm not sure about aria, my dad has a good 12 string by them though......

Aria used to make killer inexpensive guitars! Don't know about the current crop, tho. If you find a used Aria Pro II, however, it's easily as good as an RG Ibeenhad.
