Title: The Scorpions
Post by: hunter on March 10, 2007, 11:01:50 AM
So I mean, I am German and therefore not really neutral, and then the guys killed it all with Winds of Change and such pop cr@p.

BUT

their old songs like The Zoo, Blackout etc. or even the older ballads - to me this is still top stuff.

Any love/hate for them? I think they'll be on reunion tour soon ...

Their new album is just being released right now
Cant wait to see them again

Saw thjem 18 months ago supporting Judas Priest and they were amazing

Been a longtime Scorps fan - since about 1981

The Schenker brothers might have something to do with my flying V obsession

Scorpions fan here!!  :D  I even like "Wind of Change"!

They were awesome up to Love At First Sting, then they've become more patchy ever since, but I keep buying the albums.  I think it was a mistake to stop working with Dieter Dierks.  Still, at least the last album was better than Eye II Eye.

Between Lovedrive and World Wide Live they had five perfect hard rock albums.  Everyone should own them!  But for some reason my personal favourite is Fly To The Rainbow.  I just love the songs and Ulrich Roth's guitar work.

And yes, they were fantastic supporting Priest.  But I think they only played two post-'84 songs!

love em..I was just starting to drive my parents nuts with my Yamaha/Marshall 12 watt when I got into them..."No One Like You" still gets to me...broke up with a girl because she thought I was immature because I had a live cassette of the Scorps...took her home and played "Blackout" as loud as she would go and I drove real fast!
...gotta get me some spandex

Big fan....Even Winds of Change has some good tone to it, I was listening to Scorpions today as they are in my Ipod and I usually leave it on shuffle.

The Zoo Kicks Arse!!!

Can't say a bad words about the scorps: Great songs; GREAT tone. They have a really nice raw, yet uncluttered sound.

I'm confused...
It says it's a 3 CD set, but it lists tracks for 6 discs. :?

It's a mistake. CD4 is the same as 1, 5 the same as 2 etc.

It's a 3CD box set and it's great. It contains all of the hits I loved when I was 12 and listened to World Wide Live.

I gotta go and play Coast to Coast now, love it!

When I have my Miracle Man I will crank the Bogner and record a Coast to Coast on steroids version for you guys ... in case you mind

I had to go through all those tracks to make sure I've already got them on other albums!

Scorpions seem to have more "Best Ofs" than any other rock band I can think of.  Except maybe Aerosmith.
