Sorry to nab your idea Ratrod me old chum! Miracle Mans arn't supposed to play cleans but you can if you want to :)
-
Aha I like it. Sounds good enough for me clean! Way to make it harder to decide on which hi gain pickup I want!

I did back off the sliders a lot to get it clean. If the levels are nearish to 0db then it breaks up. This isn't supposed to be a clean pickup. Apparently French Jazz players like the Warpig. I read that on here sometime ago. So it's worth bearing in mind. The new Cold Sweats are supposed to be good at both too.

Is the cold sweat the next hi gain pickup? What are its characteristics suppose to be?

Well from what I've heard it's based on what John Sykes used. There are some posts under the pick ups section about it. It does sound well tasty!

Like your little solo on that one. These pickups aren't supposed to do this stuff and yeah, my Reverend does it a whole lot better. It's a lot of fun pushing pickups to the limits of their abillity.
-
Shouldn't it be Miracle Men John?
-
great clip btw!

Ah, visions of the 60s!!! :D
Nice stuff!!

Close to the earlier Gibson Dirty Fingers (not the new ones).
about 14K and ceramic magnet if i'm not wrong.

Thanks lads :) It only took about 10 takes to get it! I dunno what it is, but when you play without it recording you can do it. Press the record button and it all goes pear shaped!

Cool stuff, lol, awesome.

I know exactly what you mean. I used to call it "red light fever"- before I discovered another type of fever that can be a result of red lights ..or so I am told.

LOL  So how did you overcome red light fever? Don't tell me your a family man now
-
I never did mange to overcome it really. Like you said, I'd get it right lots of times and soon as we went for a take I'd mess up. Fortunately I managed to find a way that helped by emptying my mind ( doesn't take long these days) and just doing it. Seems to work and I found I got a better feel. I hate drop ins and like to start over if I mess up. Luckily my friends know what I am like and as I have now got a multitrack recorder I only have myself to please. little red l.e.d. fever doesn't have the same ring though.
-
Just roll the tape. When you screw up, shout the F word a couple of times and start over. Moste of my tracks were done in three takes. I do tend to get nervous when I hit the record button.
-
It's a weird one alright. It's like someone is watching you. Perhaps someone is. Perhaps it's  Him
-
The best way around that is to keep doing it until it's natural. Recording guitar can be very un-natural, since you have to worry about mic position, your headphone cable hitting the strings, facing the correct way, as well as hitting the record switch, etc etc.

That clip sounded really nice, I'm sold on what pickups I want now!
Andy!

Johnny,
Is that miracle man the bridge or neck position?

Its good to know the MMs clean up like that. My calibrated set arrived this morning. I'll try to post a clip when I get them installed.

Thanks Maxie Baby :!:
You will love them! Then you will think of another project for another type of pickup
Look forward to your clips!
