Title: HSH with warpig in bridge??
Post by: cakehead on July 06, 2005, 07:13:04 PM
Hey im new here so be nice! Im looking for some new pickups for my ibanez RG55EX which i enjoy playing heavy metal, with dream theater style cleans on. Ive looked EVERYWHERE, and on the net anyway, BKP seem to be the highest quality! So im looking for 3 new pickups, im set on a warpig in the bridge yeah, and 2 other BKP, would the matching warpig in th neck position be the best match? or something softer, i would prefer the pickups to be matching which is a problem! and then what single coil could be recommended?

Welcome to the board!
I would get a calibrated Warpig set (neck is voiced to suit the neck position) and a Trilogy suite in the middle. The DC of each respectively would be 22K, 13K and 18K. All have the same magnet, so would go well together. On a side note tomorrow Im experimenting with "Warpiging" a single coil cover!

Whilst I am a traditionalist, I am open minded and  I'd also be interested in how you get on Steve.

We think weve found a way to do it. Its plastic, it should turn out like the PIG-90 soapbars in the gallery. I'l definatly let you all know what happens tomorrow!

Well, if you look in the gallery you will see that it worked! Now I just have to wait for some one to order a Nailbomb HSS set on a "nailbombed" scratch plate!
