I just ordered my set of Mother's Milk pups, stock winding, vintage stagger. This was supposed to happen a while ago, but I decided that I didn't really like my MIM Strat. So I bought a Warmoth strat and assembled it. Alder with maple neck and Brazillian rosewood fretboard. Should be a great combination, eh? :D

That should sound amazing.

I am looking forward to hearing what you think of the results.

+1. it sounds like exactly what i was planning to do

Which neck shape did you get? I just put a hardtail together with the SRV carve and it sounds great. Did you use a regular strat bridge? I am going to put a tele together soon, I am thinking of a thinline with a clapton carve neck but I don't know anyone who has tried that shape.

I used the standard thin neck contour. Mostly, I liked the fretboard on this particular neck (from the showcase) and all the measurements were pretty standard. Nut width is 1-11/16", 10-16" compound radius fretboard. The neck shape itself is a bit thinner than my MIM Strat. I usually like thicker necks, but this one feels really nice. The bridge I used is a Wilkinson/Gotoh VSVG Vintage Tremolo. So far it's been really nice for keeping everything in tune, even though I haven't played the guitar extensively yet. I'll let you know when the pickups come.
With this guitar, I just wanted to capture some vintage vibe while making use of some modern improvements. (Naturally, it had to look good too.)
It also doesn't hurt that I play through a Deluxe Reverb amp.
