We all know they´re around, but has anybody actually heard one?
-
PhilKing has one. It's GREAT. I can make you a clip provided Phil loans it to me for a day.
-
Sambo is in a band called Stonefield in my town, there are vids and songs of them playing but none with the guitar on it's own i don't think.
PM him maybe see if he can do something for you.

twilight
That, would be great! Probably more than me who´s interested.

Okay, Phil said 'yes', so I'll be making a clip for two for you.
Couple of questions: what style of music? And do you want audio or video clips?
-
Audio clips please. Usually i play rock and metal. High to medium gain stuff, not much clean going on :)

haha - guitars that arent superstrats just don't look right in your hands Ben ; for a second i thought that was the work of photoshop :P
-
^ LOL. Yeah, that is a blackmail pic!!
That guitar has a GREAT arena rock tone! Thru my at-work amp (2x12 Dual Rec combo) I can get some great Foreigner tones going.
-
that's a really nice guitar. I really have to get a hold of this GAS, lol. Lol about the blackmail too.
-
I think I'm getting the guitar this weekend!!

Your memory is suspect. That is a real 1959 DC LP Junior with the original P-90. The pig-90 one looks very similar, but has grover machines.

Meh.
-
The one on the left is the pig-90 junior - see the difference :P
-
Once again ... meh.
-
What's the Pig-90 like Phil? I'm thinking specifically when compared with a Warpig? I've heard it's more like a sinner in p90 clothing...that's not much help though since i've never played a sinner :(
Thanks for any help

I think it's clear that Phil has too many guitars :p
Saw a late 50s LP special advertised in the Elderly catalogue for about $23850.
I'm desperately hoping you didn't pay that...
-
Wohoo! Man, am I anxious to hear it!
Anybody noticed the recent price rise for juniors? I can´t seem to find any for under 1000$ :?
-
I paid a lot less, much less than $1,000 too. In fact both my juniors and the special in total only came to a bit more than $1,000.
-
damn, I better work on my guitar hunting skills...
-
Is there any buzz problem with having such a high output P90?

I'll know soon enuff.
After taking about 275 pics of rare/vintage guitars @ Phil's place last night, I brought the Jr home. I will have clips this weekend!
-
those are extremely awesome guitars, phil. If they were modern reissues, that collection would be pretty cool in itself. The fact that some are bona fide vintage ones = :o :D 8)
:drink:

The oldest one on there is the LP Standard next to the Special, that is a 1953 that was converted to 58 specs (it also has a set of Black Dogs).
-
^ awesome- are they all vintage, or are some a bit newer?
-
So... how goes it with the clips?

In that pic, the tobacco sunburst is new, well sort of. It was made for me in the mid-90's by a friend in Bradford, but the neck warped and I gave it back to him to fix. After about 5 years and one broken truss rod later, he suggested that I gave it to Will Scott (Will Scott Guitars) to fix. One of my other friends had a 1962/3 SG Standard that had a headstock break (the second for this guitar), and Will restored it back to original condition. So I gave him the Les Paul but then I sent him a 1964 Thunderbird IV that I had bought in pieces and asked him to rebuild that first. I also had him put chambers into the Les Paul as it was really heavy. I got it back in 2004, and it is amazing. It was at LGS in 2005 on the BK stand. I have a pretty good mix of old and new, the oldest being a 1917 Washburn Parlor guitar which is just like a 1 series Martin. The newest would be the foam green strat that I am spraying at the moment! I have about 60 guitars but at the moment there are about 30 others at home from my firend who passed away in January. All his are vintage, he had nothing newer than the 80's, other than a 2005 Nash 57 Strat.

How's that Nash Strat Phil? A friend of mine was talking about them recently...

It's nice but not the same as a Bravewood. From about 2 feet away it looks old, but the bridge saddles are 'fender - fender' and there are no cracks in the lacquer. However in the States it is about 60% of the cost of a Bravewood. The aging on the plastic parts is good, but the bodies and necks are a bit generic.
-
Cheers Phil - useful info!

Once again, how goes it with the clips? :?:
