Title: LGS on the Sat - anyone going?
Post by: Twinfan on March 20, 2007, 11:39:48 AM
I'm thinking of heading down to the big smoke for the LGS on the Saturday.  Just looking into trains/planes and possibly crashing over on the Fri night.

Anyone else going on the Saturday???

I will be there, with 99.5% certainty. The only thing that will keep from attending will be the possibility of a tour that week, but at this point it looks like I'll be in England. Sat. night is British Steel fest, too!!!!!!! \m/

a bit too interested if you ask me  LMAO

if you do learn it, learn the 2nd part (the higher one) hehehe

i'm at a dilemma though.. bring my charvel, or bring my jackson :P
i'll be picking up a neck pickup for the jackson @ LGS .. and if i got the jackson, i could possibly wire it in right away hehehe... but it's not in a show state, cos i cant be arsed to set it up and all...
i'll probably bring my charvel.

i dont think you can bring guitars in, if you are a visitor though.. venue policy, cos they have some vintage and quite a lot of custom axes in there and someone could walk out with one.

I'm going to be there every day.  I have my earplugs, my support earplugs, my spare pair of earplugs and my extra spare pair, in case the others get lost.  Oh and just in case I will give Ben an extra spare pair too!!!

I know many of you think it isn't too loud, but when you are there all day the residual background noise is a problem and towards the end of the day you are really staring to struggle to hear people!  I'm not sure how it will be in ExCel as it is larger than Wembley, but the size could make it magnify the sound more if everyone is in one large room.

I remember reading that they ask you to have receipts for anything you walk out with, which would be totally lame =/

Hope they have a large number of rather nice axes for us to play then, cos if someone hands me a squier or a cheap yamaha to try out some phat amps or effects I'll be upset ;(

Nope... I doubt there will be anything there that's much better than a Pacifica 112..   (apology - sarcasm is my lowest form of wit)

See you on the Feline guitars stand - I think you might find something there to tickle your taste buds

I am really fed up with not being able to go but I did think that depending upon what time I get home on the Sunday morning(I am flying back from the USA that day), I might be up for it but the missus has told me not to be so stupid. Whatever you do, take lots of pictures please gents.

We are almost opposite BKP - as BKP have a kind of triangular stand this year, so we are about as close as is possible, and next to the PRS stand too

We will bring the Gothic along just for you!

It's just been fitted with an Earvana so it's even better now!!
Try it out when you come along....

Right, the friend I was going to stay with is out of town that weekend.  Bugger.  Might have to get a hotel instead.

Is anyone staying over on the Sat night anywhere?  I was planning on crashing at the Ibis on Docklands for £60...

Travelodge in City Airport has £26 rooms. Davey, Ben and I are in there, but we're going to the British Steel Fest on Saturday Night.

Cheers Phil.

Looks like I won't be going to LGS after all.  I was going so I could try out a VOS Gibson SG somewhere but after contacting Peter Cooks, Gibson Europe etc no-one can confirm they'll have one at the show.  Not even Gibson  :(

I dont even think that Gibson's distributor : Rosetti  will be at the show although Gibson Europe are supposed to be there

So that means no official stand for BC Rich or Rickenbacker

I dont think that even Fender will be there

A lost opportunity and very short sighted in some ways

Yep, no Rosetti just the Gibson Europe bus.  And they can't tell me what guitars will be on it as "they vary".  Very useful

jonathan, do you have to report, or otherwise tell the venue, which guitars you will have on your stand, for security reasons?
