With reading the 'what are you listening to' thread I started to think of the different songs I'd like to cover & some of the weird ones I'd like to listen to & change slightly to play. One of my bigs ones I want to do is a cover of Roxette's 'It must have been love' as a country song. There's a version of it on their album 'Tourism' that's absolutely brilliant.
So which songs would you like to re-arrange & play?

I've tried to turn AC/DC, Metallica and other well known rock stuff into rockabilly songs. This doesn't always work. Not all songs are suited for a backbeat.

Currently learning Halloween and Keeper Of The Seven Keys by Helloween.

i gave up on halloween... it's a touch too long to remember everything for me, at this point lol

I'm not in a band so I don't get to cover unfortunately, but the last song I learnt was bark at the moon by ozzy/jake e. lee.

I Am The Black Wizards by Emperor, but: without the blastbeating constantly, so much more of a death metal groove style drumming, and without all that sometimes annoying reverb. The riffs in that song are absolutely top-notch, but you often can't hear them because they get obscured by all the reverb, and the shite production.
So basically- a much more slick, death metal style version of I Am The Black Wizards would rock so hard, in my opinion.

It might be a bit cliche for a metalhead but there's nothing better than closing a set with a bit of Metallica, probably Seek and Destroy!

somewhere over the rainbow as tortured rock/blues track ala jolene

Giving my age away here, I always used to enjoy playing Mr Big and The Hunter by Free, and Little Wing by Hendrix.

Giving away your age?! I'm only 18 and love playing Free songs in the cover band!
I'm hoping we're gonna learn some good new songs soon as the new singer seems like he's gonna be a keeper :)

yeah, especially the solo! That's why I wanted to learn it!
I've pretty much got it down apart from the last super-quick picking bit. You're right, it's extremely difficult. awesome solo, though.

Good to see Jugband Blues in there, you got me thinking of getting around to a version of the Barrett song ,Dominos
