I've been in a rut for a long time and just picked up the new Total Guitar Shred Special today and it's helping! I stopped buying TG a while back because it wasn't helping me with my technique at all, but you should check out the Paul Gilbert lessons, even if shred isn't you first choice (like me).

Haha i picked up that too, looked like a good issue to me and it is!
-
The Paul Gilbert stuff is his column from the past 2-3 years. I went to buy the special the other day (WHY are they only in Smiths?) but they were out :(

It's a great mag. I already learnt Miracle Man and most of Skin O'My Teeth. Also working on For The Love Of God.
-
I hope they havent ran out by friday, actually sounds like a good issue for once!
-
been in 3 whs but i cant find it anywhere
-
i saw it, didn't buy it. As already said, looks like a decent issue for once... problem is, I already have the tabs to all the songs that were tabbed ( ) and most of those gilbert lessons too.
d'oh!

I stopped buying TG ages ago, but do find their specials much more useful than their monthly version.
The problem I has is that they seldom announce the release of a special, even in their own magazine.
Couple that with most newsagents not stocking the specials and it's a case of nobody buying the fecking things, cos they don't know about them !

the metal special was quite good too, may pickup the shred one... i;ve got like 4 years of issues (a relative buys me a sub every year) but to get it all one CD\mag would be good!

Yeah I bought the Metal special as well and it was good, but the monthy issue isn't the best these days. Plus their gear reviews aren't as thourough as other mags.
