When i have the effects loop on, the amp tend to intermittently drop in volume. At first i thought i might be a faulty tube, but i dont seem to have a problem when the loop is turned off. I know a few people have GH50L just wondering if anyone could offer any advice?

There is a trick on the GH50L where if you have the switch on 'insert' which i the middle switch on the FX loop thing then it acts as a power attenuator so if you turn the effects loop knob down then it will attenuate more and hence why it is so quiet.
You might want to check if you have done that.

He says the volume drops intermittently, so I don't think that's what he did. I would have thought tube as well. I'm not sure if the FX loop on a GH50L is tube buffered. If it is, then you need to replace that preamp tube, which I think, will be the last one.

That can signal something very wrong for the amp! Take it to a qualified tech before proceeding!!

im going to replace the preamp tubes if that dont make any difference then i will take it to an amp tech. Can anyone recommend a good one in the southwest london area? Thanx for your help :)

i think iv the same problem with my gh50l, when i put my ns2 into the loop at gets noisyer and loss of tone, but i dont use my fx loop alot so it doesnt bother me that much

ive fitted new preamp tubes and i still have the problem. Im using my fx loop alot at the moment my clone theory is to noisy infront of the amp. Anyway it looks like ill have to take it to a tech

if your tech fixes the problem please post what was wrong n how it was fixed. i might have to do repairs myself cuz no guitar shops like laney in ireland
