Title: High Output Neck Single Coil
Post by: hermz on March 30, 2007, 05:40:20 AM
Hi everyone,

A while ago I picked up a ceramic Warpig for my Caparison Dellinger and it feels like I've finally found the perfect bridge pickup for me.

Now I'm on the lookout for the perfect neck pickup. I use the neck for cleans and leads only. In the past I've tried hums like the EMG-81 which I found to lack character, Duncan Hot Rails which were either too bassy or too twangy when split, and single coils which have had that single coil twang which I absolutely can't stand.

What I'm hoping to find is a very high output single coil which is smooth, warm, and not twangy. The focus is high gain lead tones but it needs to be able to clean up quite well too. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I'd been considering using the The Sinner in the neck so if anyone has any experience with that I'd be interested to hear.

Cheers!

Although I have no clue about Single coil BKPs, I had to post just to drool over your guitar.

Trilogy Suite will do the job.  I just finished a new guitar for TO with VHII bridge and Trilogy neck.  The Trilogy is all you describe.
