Picked up my Criss Oliva replica guitar last night!

Specs:

Body is solid mahogany (yes, this is another heavy guitar)

Neck is maple, ebony fingerboard, reverse Jackson headstock, Tele heel

Nut width, 1.75"

Tusk nut

6100 fret wire

Bridge pup is a VHII, neck pup is a Trilogy Suite

Tone:

This guitar sounds AMAZING! It doesn't have as much attack as my usual fare, but has a great warm compressed tone that just drinks up the distortion from the Splawn and gives you a creamy overdrive that 100% nails vintage White Lion and RATT.

I will need to play the guitar more to get a better lock on the tone, as I only played it for my morning warmup this morning, at very low levels. Well, low for me, anyway ...

Family portrait of my current guitars with full specs coming soon!

Very cool, I quite fancy doing an "80s metal tele" kinda like Izzy plays in the Sweet Child.. video.

My guitar teacher has a funky tele made by Doug from Black Machine.

Scalloped all the way down the neck, and the pickups seemed to be BKPs.

Wait, you mean to say Ben has another guitar without a maple fingerboard? What's the world coming to! :D

I thought it was going to be something to do with Peter Criss at first.

Nice.  Does it have a tone control?  Hard to tell against the black plate.  I'm guessing "no".

Glad you all like the gtr!

Yes, it is a non-maple non-super strat! Check the weather forecast, hell might have frozen over!

My favourite BK pickup, the VHII, now sounds even better than before. All of the frequencies have the same 'speed', but now the guitar has a sledghammer heaviness (thanx to the mahog) that I wasn't expecting. The maple/ebony combo brightens things up, too.

Philly ... I thought we were friends! How dare you use the 'T' word?!
I know it's hard to see the controls (that was my intention), but it's a single master volume (which is bad enuff) and a 2-way mini switch.

very nice! I'd prefer fretboard inlays, but other than that, it's rockin'. so the VH2 sounds nice in mahogany too, then?  :D EDIT: the pickup covers match very well too to the guitar colour.

Yeah, it sounds killer in mahogany!

Fret markers? Nah, they are a waste. They can save all those fretmarkers that I don't use and give em to some unfortunate fret-knowledge deprived soul. PDT_008

They balance out very well, in fact. The output levels are the same.
There will be some clips soon.
